WEDDING

STEERS—ELLERY. At St. John’s Presbyterian Church on Saturday, the marriage was celebrated of Dulcie Maud, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. Y. Ellery, Blaketown, and David Richard, only son of Mr. and Mrs. D giteers, Kilgour Road. Rev. A. D Horweli officiated. Mr. T. Crankshaw was at the organ. The churcn was tastefully decorated. The bride, who w r as escorted by he r uncle, Mr. Norman Ellery, wore a gown of embossed satin, cut on classical lines, with shirred bodice front and high neckline, finished with her grandmother’s gold brooch. The bodije was trimmed with covered Buttons to the waistline and the centre panel formed a long train. The long sleeves were finished with tiny buttons and formed points over the wrists. Her embroidered tulle veil was held in place by a" coronet oT orange blossom and she carried a shower bouquet of cyclamen, stock and Spring flowers. She was attended bv her cousin, Miss Jessie Patterson, who wor e a frock’ of lavender taffeta, made with fully-flared skirt and cut on Victorian lines, with heart-shaped neckline. Her head-dress was a halo of pleated net and she carried a shower bouquet of lavender coloured anemones and tulips. Little Margaret Marley, cousin of the bridegroom, as flower girl, wore an ankle-length frock of pink taffeta, trimmed from neck to hemline with tiny blue bows. She' wore a pink net halo and carried a posy of Spring flowers. Mr. Stan Hadcroft was best man. As the bride left the church, she was presented with horse-shoes bv her cousins. Graham Ellery and Ronald Patterson.

The' reception was held at the Masonic Refectory, where the guests were received by the bride’s mother, wearing a naw satin-trimmed ensemble, with navy accessories, and a shoulder spray of cyclamen. She was assisted bv the bridegroom's mother, who wore a_ floral frock, with black coat and toning accessories, and a shoulder spray of sweet peas. Mr. and Mrs. D. R. Steers left later on a tour of the South Island the bride travelling in a navy costume, with accessories to tone.
