CATHOLIC BISHOP

PROTESTS AT NAZI PERSECUTION. REVELATION IN U.S.A. CONGRESS. (Rec 7.0). WASHINGTON, Oct. 6. Senator Mead told the Senate that the Catholic Bishop of Munster, in Germany is under House arrest, ana that the Nazi secret police are plundering and destroying the Catholic Church in Germany. ' Senator Mead has also submitted to the Senate correspondence, from the B’shop of Munster to a German official in which the Bishop protested against thp Nazi seizure of the Catholic Monasteries, and the Bishop also condemned Herr Himmler, the head of the Gestapo, for the coldblooded killing of demented persons, ill persons and aged persons under compulsory euthanasia. Senator Mead said he could not reveal the source of this correspondence, as that could endanger the lives of other brave men. This corresnondence of the Bishop clearly showed that Hitler intended to wipe out all relig'on, ?nd that no man would be safp under- Hitlerism and under Hitler’s anti-God crusade.
