REEFTON NOTES
(Our Own Correspondent.) REEFTON, October 3. The annual meeting of the Reefton Tennis Club was held in the Council Chambers, there being a fair attendance. The president (Mr J. B. Auld) presided. The balance-sheet disclosed a credit balance of £55 Is Bd, an increase of £49 8s on last year. The election of officers resulted as follows; President, Mr J'. B. Auld (re-elected); vice-presidents, Messrs G. E. Hubbard, O. Sharpe and D. Metter; club captain, Mr K Archer (re-elected); treasurer, Mrs D. McVicar (re-elected); secretary, Miss u. King, pro Icm; committee, Mrs La wry. Misses M. Murray, D. Farrell. J. Archer, Messrs I l ’. Archer, 1. McKenzie, J. DeJlaca and A. Le Petit; auditor. Mr T. H. Lee, junr. (reelected); caretaker, Mr E. Elliston (re-elected). It was decided that membership subscriptions remain at men 30s, vdomen 20s, country members 15s, visitors Is day or 2s 6d a week. It was decided that it be a recommendation to the incoming committee that should any mate member have to enter camp, a refund of the unused portion of his subscription be made. The secretary was granted an honorarium of £2 2s. The following notice of motion was received and carried: “That the rule govern.ng the date of the annual meeting be amended to read ‘that, the meeting be held not later than the first week in October.’ ” Recommendations to the incoming committee were made as follows: That the courts be top-dresed as soon as possible, the secretary, caretaker, Miss Farrell and Mr Sharp to act as a sub-committee with power to act; that repairs to the pavilion be undertaken; that tne question cf obtaining petrol supplies for chib matches be gene into; that the rules relating to ladder competitions be drawn up and posted in thp pavilion; that the committee enquire into the possibility of obtaining' supplies of tennis balls for members. It ‘was decided to forward a letter Io Mis McViear wishing her a speedy recovery The following new members were elected: Misses Bremner, D. Barry, Duff, Bierworth. K. Fitzgerald, Messrs' W. Pennington, L. E. Morgan, T. H. Lee, junr.. J. Ward. G. and A;. Turner, Votes of thank's to the Press and others who assisted the club during, the season were carried by acclamation.
