A Norwegian who escaped to Sweden, referring to disturbances during the last few days, says a reign .of terror began on Wednesday vflhen 5000 German soldiers in huge prison lorries spread over Oslo They woke the inhabitants and arrested a thousand. All prisons in Oslo were crammed, and Norway was rapidly becoming one great prison. Czechs and Slovaks have begun to bovcott newsnaners throughout the protectorate owing to contemptuous references to dead Czech leaders and criticisms of Russia and America A clandvstine newsnaner circulating in Belgium called “Free Speech protests against conscription of Belgians fov work in the worst bombed areas It stated that 3112 Belgians had been killed bv the R.A.F. m raids on Germany. OSLO RESTRICTIONS RELAXED (Rec. 12.10) LONDON, Sent. 16. A messag° has been received in Stockholm from Oslo that M. Terboven has announced that the ’/ate of emer°enc" >n Oslo has been lifted. It is believed that this has been owino- to the population showing growing resentment at it.
