R.A.F. Attacks ON ENEMY SHIPS RUGBY Sept. 15. An Air Ministry communique states: “Blenheim aircraft of the Bomber Command attacked an escorted enemy convoy off the Frisian Islands this afternoon. One ship was left sinking. Another was hit and damaged. “Other Blenheims of the same command attacked enemy shipping in the harbour of Haugesand on the west coast of Norway, and a factory in the same area. “Our fighters made a number of offensive patrols over the Channel and enemy-occupied territory to-day. In one of these an enemy fighter was destroyed. “In these operations we lost two aircraft a bomber and a fighter.” (Rec. 11.35). RUGBY, Sept. 16. It is officiallv stated that there was no air activity to report over Britain on Monday night.
