Station IZB Auckland is about to have new studios, the opening of which will be ofiiciallj 7 carried out on Monday, October 6.
Charged with the theft of a quanity of miscellaneous goods, the property of the Railway's Department Greymouth, on June 22 1941, four boys appeared before Mr. G. G. Chisholm S.M. in the Childrens Court at Greymouth, yesterday. Two of the culprits aged 13 years were committed to the care of the Superintendent of the Child Warfare Department, Wellington, and the ethers, aged 12 and 16 years, were placed under the supervision of the Child Welfare Officer for one year, and in one case restitution of the amount of £3/0/10 was ordered.
” A Sydney cable states: One of the largest charitable bequests in the history of Victoria has been made in the will of the late, Mr Truby Williams, who died in Melbourne last month, leaving four hundred thousand to various charities, and educational institutions. This represents his entire estate, with the exception of a few small personal bequests. His wife, .who predeceased him. was a daughter of the late Mr T. J. Parker, of the Huddart Parker Shipping Coy. There were' no children. The will directs that half the estate shall be held in trust, and. set aside for the university and various technical colleges and hospitals as endowments. The other half is to be a perpetual charitable trust, _Jhf> annual income' going for cnaritSble purposes in Victoria.
