British Expectations
(Rec 7.0) NEW YORK, July 26. Sir Gerald Camnbell was question-' ed in an interview on his return herefrom London as to whether England expected an American ExpeditionaryForce. He said: “England is so full of soldiers there there would be scarcely room to house any Ameiican troops. However, if the United States decided to enter the war, it would be for the American Navy and Air Force to give the greatest -help. London has been so cleaned up that the visible effect of its terrible bombings is incredibly slight. The people are calm and confident, realising that their margin of safety has increased, although it is not yet strong enough.”
