CLUB FACING DISQUALIFICATION.
P.A. CHRISTCHURCH, Julv 12. The Linwood Rugby Football Club has made itself liable to disqualification by playing an un-reinstated League player, L. Beri. in its senior team, on two successive Saturdays. After a long discussion of the case to-night, the Management Committee of the Canterbury Rugby Union decided to call on the responsible officers of the Club to appear before the committee next Tuesday to show cause why the Club should not be suspended. x . ... It was stated at the meeting that the Club had included the player in its senior team first against the direct instruction of the President of the Union, and second after the receipt of a letter from the Umon asking for an explanation of the or - ginal offence. „ , . The Committee had before it a letter from the Club, which several members considered defiant in tone.
