Employers’ Federation WANTS “ONE BIG CAMP.” • (P.A.) , WELLINGTON, June 18. A proposal that employers’ associations, Chambers of Commerce and Manufacturers' Associations throughout the country should get together and form one big federation, w’as made by the President of the Ney.’ Zealand' Employers’ Federation, Mr B. Sutherland, speaking at the annual meeting of the Wellington Employers' Association this evening. “By having that,” Mr Sutherland said,' “we would all be united, and * think we would have a mucn greater power in the control of the country than we have at present. We would not be able to be taken piece-meal and beaten one after the other, as is being done at present.” Mr Sutherland said this offer had been made to other organisations some time ago. but had not yet met with any response from manufacturers or chambers of commerce. The Employers Federation had elected a committee to meet them, but they had not yet succeeded in getting a meeting. •.1 want members of the Employers- Association to know that an olive branch has been held out by /he Ismplovers’ Federation,' he said, ana that it will continue to be held out. I will not cease working until those organisations are united into one camp.”
