TRIBUTE BY OFFICIAL. WELLINGTON. May 21. The opinion that the four institutional and recreational huts at Waiouru were undoubtedly the best of their kind in New Zealand was expressed by the secretary of the National Patriotic Fund Board, Mr. G. A. Hayden, who visited the camp to investigate the provision of extra Comforts and amenities for the men there. As the camp was isolated and located at a high altitude, extra attention had to be paid to this question, he said. The camp, library, which is attached to’one of the institutions, greatly impressed Mr. Hayden. More than 50 per cent of the personnel of the camp made use of the- lending portion of the library. A visit was also paid to the hospital. The men at the camp were helping themselves by endeavouring to Jay out a nine-hole golf course, Mr. Hayden said, and any persons able to donate golf clubs and golf balls in a serviceable condition would be helping the men to obtain useful recreation.- In addition, a miniature putting: green wasf proposed, and the board'-.would be’ pleased to receive putters for the use of the officers and ; . men.
