WEDDING

RANSBY—DEAKIN A pretty wedding was celebrated at Christ Church, Waitaha, on Tuesday, April 15, when Frederick Wal- ' ter, second son of Mr and Mrs S. Ransby, of Karamea, was married to Noella Grace, eidest daughter of Mr and Mrs W. H. Deakin, of Waitaha. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. S. E. Woods, and Mrs Woods presided at the organ. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, wore a beautiful frock of magnolia brocaded satin, with long tight-fitting sleeves pointed to a peak over the hands. The bodice and fish train were finished with sprays of orange blossom. A beautiful embroidered veil fell from a coronet of orange blossom to form a second , train, and she carried a shower bouquet of cream chrysanthemums and‘maidenhair fern. The bridesmaids, Misses Margaret and Dorothy Deakin, sisters of the bride, wore lovely frocks of petalpink georgette over pink watered silk taffeta, With deep-corset whists of black'velvet, with heart-shaped necklines finished with a deep pink rose. The full-flowing skirts were finished with black velvet sashes, and they also wore black velvet shoes to tone. Each carried a bouquet of pink flowers, with silver streamers. The best man was M'r S. J. Deakin, brother of the bride, while Mr W. Evans acted

as groomsman. After the ceremony the guests adjourned to the Settlers’ Hall, where they were received by Mrs Deakin wearing a blue georgette frock, navy coat and hat, and she carried a posy of red flowers. She was assisted by Mrs Ransby, the bridegroom’s mother, who wore a navy costume and navy hat and accessories to lone. After the reception the bride and bridegroom left by car for the North, the bride wearing a teal frock, navy coat and hat and shoes to tone. Mr and Mrs Ransby will make their future home at Evans Creek, South Westland.
