TERRITORIAL CAMP
Intensive Training Advice was received by the Army Office Greymouth, yesterday, to the effect’that all West Coast Territorials drawn in the ballots, or volunteers, who have not completed their three months’ intensive training, are to enter camp for three months on April 22 (tentative date), comprising the First Reinforcement of the Terri- ! torial Force and personnel who have been prevented from doing their intensive training at an earlier date. The men will receive personal notification. In most, cases they will, be second ballot men, who are ineligible for overseas service, in accordance with the announcement of “one service only” made last Thursday. Men temporarily unfit for overseas service (Grades la and 2) may be included in the draft for • Territorial camp but first their files mu be reviewed bv the Medical Boar . and this task is in progress. If re £ ycteci Grade 1, however, they wil. no. go into the Territorial camp, but will await calling up for overseas service. Drafts will be sent to territorial camps each month as men held back become available This camp is distinct from the annual camp for the Regiment, which, a s announced la'st Thursday, will commence at Burnham on April 7 and conclude on April 21. MANPOWER APPEALS. Employers will be expected to release their employees for training, but Man-power Committees may allow applications for leave in some cases where work of considerable importance, such as seasonal work in farming districts, has to be completed. It is expected that Manpower Committees will have a busy time in the next few weeks, reviewing the cases of men who have previously been held back.
