FRENCH SHIP TORPEDOED BY UNKNOWN VESSEL (Received March 4, 9 p.m.) MADRID, March 4. An unknown vessel torpedoed a five-thousand-ton French ship, the “Guilvinet.’’ 170 miles from San Sebestian on February 19. A fishing vessel has landed twentytwo survivors who were passengei s. Seventeen members of the crew, including the captain and an engineer, are missing. The Guilvinet was reported to have been en route to Oran. CONVOY SURVIVORS. FUNCHAL. March 3-Fifty-two survivors from the ships sunk in convoy have landed BLOCKADE RUNNER RIO DE JANEIRO. March 3. The German freighter Lech. 3290 tons, after a voyage of 31 days, carrying merchandise, also an aeroplane for the Condor Airline, arrived from Bordeaux to-day.
