Opera House Finally To-night: “THE SAINT’S DOUBLE TROUBLE.” Next attraction (commences Tomorrow, Wednesday): “INVISIBLE STRIPES” and “SANDY IS A LADY.”

Bringing the powerful story of a man seeking to make an honest way in the world after a term spent, in prison, “Invisible Stripes,’’ starring George Raft, Jane Bryan and William Holden, comes to the Opera House to-morrow (Wednesday). George Raft plays the title role as the man who comes back to the girl he 1 loves, determined to lead a straight life, only to find the way barred to him because of his stigma. Jane Bryan, the screen’s newest dramatic star, essays the top feminine role of a girl seeking only happiness with the man she loves In this case he is William Holden, who plays thp younger brother of George Raft, ' who wants to turn to crime as a means of securing enough money to marry. How Raft keeps him from making the same mistake he did forms the basis of this gripping picture described by critics as one of th 0 most tremendously moving films to come out of Hollywood this year. In addition to these three, Humphrey Bogart, filmdom’s ace bad man, Flora Robson, famed English character actress, Lee Patrick and Margot Stevenson, head th e supporting cast.

A quintet of comedians appear in support of Baby Sandy in the two-year-old’s first starring picture, Universal’s “Sandy Is a Lady,-’ which commences at the Opera House tomorrow (Wednesday). The five funmakers are '.Mischa Auer, Eugene Pallette’. Billy Gilbert, Edgar Kennedy and Fritz Feld, any one of whom has heretofore been considered sufficient for a comedy of ordinary proportions, whilst others include Butch and Buddy, lovable brats of “The Underpup,’’ Nan Grey and Tom Brown. The story revolves around the baby star who wanders away from Butch and Buddy when she 'is left in their care. Sandy innocently gets into all kinds of situations; she saves a restaurant from a bomb explosion; she blithely walks along the high steel girders of an unfinished building while ambulances and fire equipment scream to the rescue on the streets below. It is Sandy who saves the day for her father, gets Billy Gilbert a new job, and finds a partner for Mischa Auer in financing some of his loony inventions.

Regent Now Showing: “REMEMBER idE NIGHT.” The stellar roles of “Remember the Night” are carried by Fred MacMurPreston Sturges and the film was directed by Mitchell Leisen, director or ray and Barbara Stanwyck, with Beulah Bondi, Elizabeth Patterson and Sterling Holloway in strong supporting roles. The story is an original by the recent screen hit “Midnight.” “Remember the Night” is described as a light comedy romance in which Mac Murray has the role of District Attorney and Barbara Stanwyck that of a beautiful, but case-hardened jewel thief.
