POSTMASTER DROWNED. WELLINGTON, February 24. Allan Kirkpatrick, Postmaster at Kilbirnie, was drowned in Evans’ Bay on Saturday afternoon. He was 43 years of age. Although two swimmers’ rescued Kirkpatrick from the water, efforts at artificial respiration failed. Kirkpatrick was on leave. He was accompanied by his wife and a small girl, while swimming.
