N.Z. CASUALTY

GISBORNE, February 14. Advice has been’ received that Flight Commander D. H. E. Barker, D.F.C., R.A.F., has been killed in air operations. A son of Mr and Mrs Richard Barker, of Gisborne, he joined the R.A.F. at the outbreak of the war. He was attached to a bomber squadron and had made many flights over enemy territory. He was awarded the D.F.C. shortly before Christmas. His only brother is training in the N.Z.R.A.F.
