ONE-DAY MEETINGS

Hospital board’s Decision The Grey Hospital Board last evening decided to deal in futuie with all its business for each month at a meeting on one day, instead of holding as heretofore a finance and hospital committee meeting the day prior to the Board meeting. Mr Smeaton moved that, in view ol what had taken place at the meeting, the Hospital and Finance Committee meetings be abolished, and all matters be dealt with at one meeting of the Board.

Mr J. F. Laing seconded the motion.

Mr J. B. Kent asked if Mr Smeaton had heard of the minority report. He had been in minority' at the previous meeting, and as far as bringing that matter up in open meeting, he would do it again, under similar circumstances, and he would not apologise for doing it. Mr Smeaton asked what was the use in holding meetings in committee. without the press, when members brought up committee matters in open meetings and before the press. The motion was carried.

Mr Kent’s motion that only one meeting be field a month and on the same night, was then carried, the Chairman seconding it.
