NELSON CREEK NOTES
[Our Own Correspondent] Mr. Krakosky, who underwent an operation recently, is making a satisfactory recovery. Mr/J. Horrack and Miss N. McKane, resumed duties on Tuesday when the school re-opened. Winners of the weekly euchre on Tuesday were:—Mr. J. Horrack and Mrs. Krakosky. This being the first of the season, the attendance was not as large as could be desired. The proceeds being for a worthy cause, however, we are sure that‘residents will give good support in future especially on the shop day on February 22nd. Word has been received by the Creek Brownies that a knitted cot cover made by them and sent to evacuee children, has reached England safely, with others covers and clothing, sent through the Girl Guides’ Association. Its destination was a nursery school in Herefordshire, sponsored by Mrs. J. B. Priestley. The children are all under five v -ears of age and had been bombed out of their homes in London. The gratitude shown by them for such a small service encourages us to bigger efforts in this urgent need.
