Chemist and Woman COMMITTED FOR TRIAL PALMERSTON NORTH, Feb 7. Herbert Hepworth, aged 73, chemist, of Palmerston North, and Julia May Ambury, aged 50, married, ot Wellington, were committed for trial here to-day on the charge of causing the death of a married by an unlawful act, thereby committing manslaughter. They were also committed for trial on the charge of attempting to procure a miscarriage in respect of another woman.

An unusual feature of the case was the presentation by the police of the first woman’s dying statement, the making of which had been suggested to her by the hospital doctor, with the object of trying to prevent other women from getting into a similar predicament. She was told that sne was dying and that she agreed to make the statement, which she signed
