Applications for such positions are invited from men between the ages of 18 and ’35 for service for the duration of the war. Applicants should be skilled radio mechanics possessing a good practical and theoretical knowledge of servicing radio apparatus. Possession of a Radio Operator’s Certificate (Ist or 2nd class), a Technical Certificate in Broadcasting, or a Broadcast Operator’s or Amateur’s Certificate will be regarded as an additional but not an essential qualification. Skilled radio mechanics qualified for direct entry into overseas service will be enlisted as Leading Aircraftmen, Group I. Applications are aLo invited from semi-skilled radio mechanics. In this case the commencing rates of pay will be on a lower scale.
