The demand for clothing material, which has been made much greater since the war began, because of the need for military equipment, is keeping the woollen mills of New Zealand working at pressure. In certain materials alone, said a Wellington representative of the textile industry, Dominion mills were turning out about five miles of cloth a day. The programme for the coming year’s production is expected to meet the estimated demand.
