GERMAN PLANS
For New Bulgarian Regime [Aus. & N.Z. Cable Assn.] LONDON, February 5. “The Times” Sofia correspondent says: The resignation of M. Bagrianoff caused a sensation in political circles. He is one of the King’s closest friends, and also most popular among the peasants, yet King Boris approved his resignation. It appears that M. Bagrianoff was over-confi-dent last week and made a speech in Parliament, criticising the economic policy. It is expected that the Cabinet will resign, but King Boris, who has hitherto conceded much, obviously did not like the latest manoeuvres. The resignation weakens the Cabinet’s position, but frees the Government of a politician aiming to institute a totalitarian economic system. It is not believed that the resignation will affect foreign policy. The “Telegraph’s” Sofia correspondent says: It is reported from Berlin that officials are surprised and disappointed. M. Filoff’s refusal to agree to closer collaboration with Germany is regarded as unfriendly. The German press was recently hailing M. 1 Bagrianoff as the coming Premier.
