Merger Plan killed by three provinces (Received January 16, 11 p.m.) OTTAWA. January 15. Any hope Pf agreement on the Sirois Royal Commission report, as cabled last night, has been abandoned as the result of the opposition of thre e of the provinces. Presumably they are Ontario. British Columbia, and Alberta. Mr MacKenzie King, Prime Minister said there would be no point in establishing committees in view of the opposition. T , The Minister of Finance, Mr Isley, stated that the rationing of petrol throughout Canada is imminent.
