CATHOLIC TEACHERS

WELLINGTON CONFERENCE WELLINGTON, January 7. More than 200 nuns and teaching Brothers, representing 91 Catholic schools in the Wellington archdiocese, are participating in a four-day conference, which opened to-day. Organised by Dr. N. H. Gascoigne, director of education in the diocese, it is hoped to make it an annual event. Dr. Gascoigne voiced thanks of the Catholic education authorities to the Education Department for helpful co-operation. Archbishop O’Shea, opening the conference, said it was an important step in the right direction, and one whose effect would be felt not only in the schools of the archdiocese, but throughout the Dominion.
