The death occurred at Sumner on Sunday of Mr William Robert Urquhart, who was for several years manager of th e Hokitika branch of the National Bank. He was born hi 1873. The death ha s occurred in England of Mrs. E. Howard, sister of Mr. W J. Jordan, New Zealand High Commissioner. Mrs. Howard had been in ill-health for some time, and her death was hastened by shock, when a bomb damaged her house. A bomb also damaged the house of the High Commissioner’s mother, Mrs Jordan. 1

The death occurred on Monday evening at Dunedin of Mr. John Loudon, a former Mayor of the city, aged 79. Over a long period he had been connected witn the pupiic and commercial life of Dunedin. He was a former member of the Dunedin City Council, and s’nee 1907 had been a member of the Otago Harbour Board, of which he was chairman for several terms.

The death occurred early this morning at Greymouth, of Mr William Leitch of Blackball, after a lengthy illness. The late Mr Leitch, who was in his seventieth year, was a well-known miner, and a native of Scotland, coming to this country in his youth, ana spending most of his life at Blackball. The relatives will have the sincere sympathy of many friends in their loss. He is survived by his wife, and by three sons, James (Taylorville), Edward (Huntly), and William (Greymouth); Four daughters, Mesdames A. Blocksage and H. Ledsham (Greymouth), I. Scott (Blackball), and Miss Nancy Leitch (Blackball).

Tna wedding took place on October 12, at St. Joseph’s Cnurch, Aidershot, England, Ox Miss Nome McDonnell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. McDonnell, Greymouth. and Lieutenant Geoffrey 2k. de Courcy Hillman, former Rhodes Scholar, of Perth, Australia. Very Rev. Canon O’Farrell officiated, fine bride wore a French blue ensemble, with tox fur. Her hat was of match.ng b tie, and her accessories were in the new plum shade. She earned a sheaf of Autumn-tinted roses. M.ss Cecilia Keating, formerly of Greymouth, attended the bride, wearing a taiioi «;d tweed costume, with rust ha:, chocs and gloves. She also carried a sheaf of roses. Lieutenant Jame; Thompson was best man. L.etuenant -nd Mrs, Hillman left later for a motor tour" of Surrey and Hampshire. Their home will be in Yoik.
