CRICKET
The following team will represent Canterbury against Otago, at Christchurch at Christmas.: —W. A. Hadlee (captain), K. F. M. Uttley, D. Moynihan, F. P. O’Brien, W. McD. Anderson, A. W. Roberts, R. H. Scott (West Coast), A. Burgess, I. B. Cromb, V. James, R. Westwood, S. Cameron (twelfth man). J. L. Kerr was not available. An invitation from the Otago Association for a return match is to be played at Dunedin on February 7,8, and 10 was accepted. R. H. Scott, the United (Greymouth) medium-fast bowler and batsman, selected to represent Canterbury, is a former St. Albans player. This is the first occasion on which West Coast has had a representative in the Canterbury Plunket. Shield team.
DISTRICT FIXTURES. The West Coast Cricket Association’s fixture for the week-end are:— Senior (Sunday): United v. Cobden, at Rec. No. 1. Marist A v. Camerons ,at Rec. No. 2. Marist Bv. Runanga at Runanga. Juniors '(Saturday): United win by default from Technical. Marist School v. Brunner, at Rec. No. 1. Marist 0.8. a bye. United v. Marist 0.8., friendly game at Rec. No. 2.
