ALLEGED SUBVERSIVE PUBLICATION. AUCKLAND, December 16. Charged with publisning a subversive statement, namely a paper sticker bearing the words “No more troops overseas. N.Z. comes first,” and further having such stickers in his possion, with a view to facilitating publication of a subversive statement, also having in his possession certain pamphlets, entitled “Forward,” Henry Joseph Hurman, 39 carpenter, pleaded not guilty, at the Police Court, and elected for trial by a jury. The Magistrate (Mr Morling) committed him to the Supreme Court for trial. Three other men are also oeing charged at the Police Court, to-day, with breaches of rhe Public Safety Emergency Regulations, arising out of an arrest on the night of December 5.
