Near the close of the evening “Father Christmas” arrived and distributed presents to all the children -present. Another pleasing feature on the Christmas Tree (which was beautifully decorated by the ladies), was small tokens (or the Ladies’ Committee, convenor (Mrs G. Blythe) and the Secretary (Miss M. McNulty) from members of the Society. These were highly appreciated by the recipients. Cheers tor "Father Christmas’’ concluded a very enjoyable function for the children.

During the course of the eveting Chief Anderson, in the name of the Society, presented tokens ‘of esteem to Mr J'. Burn, the Society’s pianist, Chieftain McLean (violinist) and Mr J. Cowie, who has assisted with his piano-accordion. Chief Anderson made special reference to the services rendered by Mr John Burn. Chieftain McLean replied on behalf of the recipients. Chieftain McLean, on behalf of the Society, presented Chief Anderson with a small token to show the esteem in which he was held by members of the Society, referring to the very capable manner in which the affairs of the Society were conducted. Chief Anderson suitably replied. A very pleasant evening concluded with the singing of “Auld Lang Syne.”
