SAMOAN’S DISAPPEARANCE APIA, December 5. A shark tragedy occurred at Foga-* savi’i, Savai’i, when a native, aged 42, wa s bonito fishing near the reef. By some means the paopao was capsized and the man attempted to pick up a fish that was floating while his companions made for the reef. The others in th e party heard him call out and saw a flurry in the water and the man suddenly disappeared. Th e fi ns °f a largo shark were plainly seen. Search was made for the bodv but no tracp has been found.
