MR LEE’S PARTY

TREASURER’S RESIGNATION. WELLINGTON, December 6. In connection with the resignation of the Treasurer of the Democratic Labour Party, Mr A. H. Carman, which was announced yesterday, the following statement has been issued by the Secretary of the Party, Mr F. M. Earl: “It is quite correct that Mr Carman has resigned as Treasurer of the Democratic Labour Party. Apart from any other reasons, Mr. Carman did not see his way clear to endorse the Party’s war attitude. While respecting sincere pacific sen-, timents, the Democratic Labour Party is most definitely concerned with the necessity for supporting New Zealand’s war effort against" Nazism and Fascism.
