trotting Notes

Forbury Dispute: The action of the judge at the recent meeting, Mr A. O. Wellwood, in declining to act without an assistant was discussed at a meeting of the committee of the Forbury Park Trotting Club on Thursday evening. The chairman said the position was governed by the rules, and no judge was entitled to have an assistant. It was a breach of the rules. Mr JStevens was appointed judge for the remainder of the season. A complaint by the starter Mr A. J. Hastings, that one of the stewards, Mr H. Halliday, had accused him of making a bad start in the last race was also considered. After a discussion, Mr Halliday apologised. RACING FIXTURES. December 6, 7—Whangarei R.C.
