Mr J. Sweeney, of the N.Z. Road Service, has been transferred to Greymouth.

Mr and Mrs A. Gibb paid a visit to ‘Greymouth on Tuesday. Miss J. McNabb, of Christchurch, who has been on a visit here, has returned home.

Miss G. Kirby was a visitor to Greymouth on Monday. Mrs Thorn has returned home after spending a few days in Hokitika. The whitebaiters in South Westland rivers have withdrawn their nets from the streams until next season.

The ball held here on Saturday night last in aid of the local swimming baths was a big success, visitors being present from all parts of the district.
