AUCKLAND WIN. CHRISTCHURCH, August 18. Auckland took the principal honours in the New Zealand University cross-country championships at Cashmere on Saturday. A. G. Kofoed (Auckland) led from start to finish to record the easiest win of the seaeon over the Cashmere course. His time was 38min 47scc, one of th e best returned for the 61-milc journey this year.

’ Auckland won th e Dixon trophy for the teams’ championship, with 21 points. Otago wa s second with 27, / Victoria third with 38, and CanterI bury fourth with 50. The CarmaltI Jones Cup for th e South Island cham- | pionship was again won by Otago. with 22 points to Canterbury 33.
