Haines is a patient in the Grey River Hospital and her condition i s satisfactory. The death has been reported from London of the Naval writer Heaton Bywater at th e age of 56 years.

McKane and R. W. Stewart. The Right Rev. P. W- Stephenson, Bishop-elect of Nelson is to arrive in New Zealand from Sydney early in November.
