| BARRYTOWN. The return of the Barrytown dredge for the first half of August is 223 ounces of gold from 92,000 yards of material, secured in 228 hours. KANIERI. The return of the Kanieri dredge for the first half of August is 472 ounces from 149,000 yards of material secured in 256 hours. Because a motor which controls the bucket line on the dredge blew out on Thursday, the bucket line fell to the bottom of the dredging pool and put the nose of the dredge down. Action was taken to repair the damage, and the dredge was brought to an even keel on Friday. Dredging is held up in the meantime. ARAHURA. The return of the Arahura dredge for the first half of August is 426 ounces of gold, secured from 163,000 yards of material in 264 hours. ARGO. The return o£ the Argo dredige last week was 20 ounces secured from 12,000 yards of material in 133 hours. ALEXANDER. The report for the week ending August 15, is as follows:—No. 6 Intermediate Solid Stope Drive North: Driven to a point of the face of the Intermediate Level. The face shows 18 inches in width and appears to be making again underfoot. The stoping length of this block to date is 103 feet of clean solid ore. On the south of No. 2 Rise, a solid stope is being driven 96 feet above No. 6 level on stone averaging 12 inches in width. This width should improve when the lode is stoped upwards. Stoping in the second stope above No. 6 Intermediate, the lode is 42 inches wide, but should improve in width when the stope is carried northwards. No. 5 Intermediate Stopes'*’! These are being worked with two men, the lode showing no change. Sixty-five tons of ore have. been sent to the battery for the week.
