WAIUTA MEAT SUPPLY.

[To The Editor],. Sir.—We are prepared to concede that “Returned Soldiier,” as claimed in your issue of the 24th ultimo, fought for three years for democracy,

but we cannot concede that it has, had any influence upon his present) methods of undermining other peo-' pie’s interests. His latest, Sir, is so full of inaccuracies and mis-state-ments, that it is nothing more nor less than an attempt to throw dust in the eyes of the pubhc. In our own previous letter, we explained our action, and, as we do not intend to continue this correspondence, we will conclude by asking your readers to accept our statements, in spite of what has been said to the "ontrary, and to remember that we did nol say that the third party used 100 gallons of petrol per month, but that he was granted 100 gallons per month, which, we believe, has since been considerably reduced. We thank you in anticipation of your insertion of this letter. We are, etc., J. McELWEE AND SONS.
