INANGAHUA MATCHES. Tile Inangahua Rugby League competitions were continued on Sunday in beautiful weather and before a large crowd at the Reef ton racecourse. In the first match, Waratahs defeated Waitahu by 24 points to ml after the V. aratah backs had given a most thrilling display. The main game between Grey \ alley and Kiwis resulted in a win for Kiwis by S points to 6 after a great struggle. For next week-end the fixtures are. Senior (Flannigan Cup): Waratahs v. Kiwis at Reef ton, at 1.30 (C. McEiwee); Waitahu v. Grey Valley at Reefton, at 3 p.m. (I. E. Scott). Third grade: Grey Valley v. Reefton at Ikamatua at 2.30 (W. McVicar); Waiuta a bye. At a meeting of Inangahua Club delegates there were present Messrs C McElwee (chair), R. Irving. A. Eklund, E. Riley, C. Hinton, H. Gough, S Newcombe (management Committee), W. Bonifacio, A. Turner (Kiwis), H. Steel, I. E. Scott (Grey Valley), C. Shutt, G. Rosanoswki (Waitahu), J. Howard (Waratah) and T. F. .McKenzie (secretary). West Coast League wrote that the first home-and-home match with Inangahua at Reef ton would be played on August 18th, and the date for the Northern Union Cup match would be fixed later. A rereree reported a player for questioning his rulings and attended the meeting and explained his reason. After the player had spoken it was decided to write to the N.Z. Referees’ Association for rulings on the points raised. Members asked whether anything could be done with regard to late tackling, and the chairman said that this could be dealt with by the referees. A motion that the representative team be seletced to play against a B team prior to the match with West Coast was lost. The amendment that 17 players be selected with a view to replacements in the second spell of the representative match was carried. It was unanimously decided that all players must be registered and all transfers be applied for not later than Monday, August 5 and any player not complying will not be considered for the representative team. Discussion took place over the question of the Cup donated by Mr W. Massetti, of Christchurch, for competition in the Buller district. It was finally decided that the cup be allocated for home and home matches between West Coast and Inangahua subject to the consent of the donor. The proposed rules provide for two such matches in a season, one to be played in each district Irrespective as tc which League holds the Cup. It was resolved that the Knock-out Competition be played immediately after the conclusion of the Fiannigan Cup competition and the following draw was made: August 11—Kiwi v. Waita-.m at Reefton; Waratah v. Grey Valiev at Reefton. M. Rosanoswki was appointed to fill a vacancy on the management committee. Discussion arose over the late starting of matches and it was decided that the time limit be 15 minutes for home teams and 30 minutes for travelling teams, ana that if a match is not started accordly the referee declare the nonoffending team the winner.
