NEW IMPOSTS ADVOCATED [Aus. & N.Z. Cable Assn.] (Received July 28, 7 p.m.)' LONDON, July 27. The “Daily Express” advocates a capital levy and higher taxes on lower incomes. This advocacy is attracting attention in political and financial circles. The “Daily Express” in an editorial, visualises a levy of ten per cent, on all fortunes at their values. It also suggests the higher taxation of incomes between £2OO a year and £5OO a’year. It says that recipients of these amounts enjoyed comparative immunity from taxation for many years.
