Trottikig Notes
Molly desborough: Molly Desborough, the dam of King Potts, has been booked to Sandydale. Molly Desborough was got by Desborough—Molly McKinney, by Young Mc-Kinney-Seacliff, by Brooklyn. Desborough was get by Logan Pointer — Tilly F, by Franc —Tilly H„ by Huon - Hattie Vermont.
An Inquiry: An inquiry was held into the Performance of Molly Pronto in the Novice Handicap run at Ascot (Vic.). After evidence liad been given to show the mare was genuinely backed, th e stewards accepted the explanations tendered. The driver (R. Buchanan) was censured for the manner in which he drove the mare, and was told that if he drove similarly in another event th? stewards might recommend the cancellation of his licence. Carelessness: What appears to be a case of gross carelessness on the part of all concerned is the fuel that Silver Graltan is returned as being produced by . tin unnamed mare. If there was no pedigree behind the dam the omission would be pardonable, but Silver Gt’9l’ tan was got by the Harold Dillon horse Oinako from Silver Princess, by Prince Imperial— Barbara, by loung Irvington from a General Iraeey mare. Silver Princess is also the dam cl Mother Machree, Silver Loeanda and others. Oinako was got by Harold Dillon from th e imported mare Grattaneite, also the da mol’ Hula Dillon.
Our Jewel: It is reported that the pacer Our Jewel who over the past two seasc-ii.> has performed prominently in the Auckland centre, has been sold to Mr E. G. Bridgens, president of the Auckland Trotting Club, at a substantial figuMe. Overtures for the purchase of Our Jewel had been .made by the Christchurch trainer R. B. Berry, and
the fact that he clid not wish to see the horse go out of the province influenced Mr Bridgens in acquiring Our Jewel, who is to be sent to Auckland where he will enter the stable of F. J. Smith,
