PURCHASE OF U.S. PLANES
ALLIES ACCEPT AMERICAN TERMS FOR PAYMENT (Received April 16, 10.50 p.m.) WASHINGTON, April 15. Ail obstacles to the sale of aircraft to the Allies have been removed. Mr Morgenthau, Secretary to the Treasury, announced that the Allied Purchasing Mission have agreed to unrevealed conditions of payment, without criticism or complaint. He denied that the United States has adopted a “take it or leave it” attitude as cabled on April 12. Seven advanced types of American planes have thus far been made available. The Glenn Martin twin-engined light bomber type was released to-day.
