PLAY LN U.S.A. I FERRIER BETTER. (Received. March 24. 7.50 p.m.) NEW YORK. March 23. At Grensboro. North Carolina, today. three golfers. Clayton, Heafner, and Ben Hogan tied with.. ,(59’s to lead in the opening round of the Greensboro Open Championship. Ferrier took 75, despite his having done two practice 72’s. Wind upset a crack field, including Sam Byrd, who carded 76, Harry Cooper 77, and Jimmy Hines 80, although Sarazen was round ,in 77 (par). Lawson and Little took 74. Ferrier was satisfied with his performance on this trickv coiirse.
