WELLINGTON, March 21. , The following resolution was passed by the Dominion Executive of the New Zealand Returned Soldiers Association: ‘‘That this Association records its deep appreciation of tne splendid Centennial gift of Mr an Mrs J. R. McKenzie, and it is a matter of great gratification to this Association that disabled soldiers, sai - ors. airmen and members of the mercantile marine will be beneficiaries under this generous trust. A total of £1,305,267 has now been contributed in interest-free loans aad donations to the Government for wai purposes. To-day’s list includes

H. Scales, Wellington for the duration and 12 months .. 2,000 Abbott Armstrong & Howey, Auckland .. 1,000 Hallenstein Bros, Dunedin .. 1.000 Andreae & Company, Christchurch 1,000 J. R. Taylor, Manutahi 1,000 F. R. and* E. H. Picot, Wellington 1,000 Allen, Son and McClure, Dunedin 1,000 Radford and Co. Wellington . 1,000 The last seven contributors are for the duration and six or 12 months.
NATIONAL PATRIOTIC FUND. The following donations are acknowledged in response to His Excellency the Governor-General’s appeal for funds:— Total donations to 11/3/40, £36,721 7s lOd; Wool worths (N.Z.) Ltd £250; Mr and Mrs A. B. Gibbons £100; Master Bakers’ Association £6O; Wairarapa Racing Club £5O; Netwown, Seatoun and Island Bay Bowling Clubs £37 4s; Anonymous £2O; / M.P. Staff Social Club £l3 15s; Mrs Knox Gilmer £lO 10s; H. M.'Bannehr £1 3s 6d; Mrs Caines £3; M. Jones £1 Is 6d; J. Kirk £1; Mrs Butler £1; Anonymous £1; Anonmyous £1; Anonymous 15s; Sundry donations, including additional amounts from Seal Campaign £5l 14s 6d. Total £37,324 11s -Id. A sum of £6O has also been received from the Master Bakers’ Association for the Finnish Relief Fund. CELTIC CLUB’S DONATION. At the annual meeting of the Greymouth Celtic Rugby Football Club it was decided unanimously to donate £5O as a loan to the Government, interest free, for the duration of the war, an'* for 12 months after, as' a contribution to the Dominion war effort.
