CONFERENCE OF PARTIES. WELLINGTON, March 19. Conditions of work on the waterfrpnt were discussed at a conference between representatives of the shinping companies and the employees in Parliament buildings. The delegates were welcomed by Hon. P. Fraser, Deputy Prime Minister, who expressed the wish that the parties would be able to agree unon some practical plan, that would make for better work better organisation and) more harmony on the waterfront. Mr W. H. Price on behalf of the shipping companies, and Mr J'. Roberts on behalf of the workers, made statements which were handed to the Government.

Mr Fraser said that it was pleasing to get the assurances, of . both sides that they would co-operate to the fullest extent in order to help the Government in ,its efforts to institute a satisfactory, system.
