THE WEATHER
[Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, March 18. The weather report is as follows: — General situation: An anti-cyclone covers the New Zealand area, but conditions are disturbed over Eastern Australia. Forecast: Winds, light to moderate, and rather variable, but with northerly directions prevailing south of Taranaki and Hawke’s Bay, and gradually freshening. Seas,- in New Zealand waters, slight to moderate, but rising about Cook Strait and south of Cape Egmont. Eastern Tasman Sea: light to moderate and variable winds; slight seas in northern portion; moderate to strong north-westerly winds and rough seas in the southern portion. Weather, fair to fine generally, but with scattered morning fog or low cloud; cool in south to-night, with some light frosts inland, but mild to warm day temperatures.
