BANKRUPT BROTHERS. SENT TO GAOL. INVERCARGILL, March 18. Sentences of nine months’ imprisonment for contempt of Court were imposed by Mr Justice Kennedy on Luke Cody and John Cody, bankrupts, formerly farmers, of Riversdale, on summonses heard in the Supreme Court on March 8 for bankrupts to show cause why they should not be committed for contempt. A sentence of six months imprisonment was imposed on Lawrence Cody, another of the bankrupt brothers. The judge held that the charges against Michael Cody had not been proved. The judgments were delivered in the Supreme Court to-day by the registrar, Mr A. E. Dobbie.
