DREDGE WORKERS

WESTLAND UNION. The quarterly meeting of, tfie Dredge Workers’ Union m the Town Hah on Sunday last, a (large number of members being in •attendance. Mr J. Laing (President) was in the chair. It was decided that the Union be represented at the Federation of Labour Conference on March 19, and /the Labour Party Conference on March 25 bv the President (Mr J. Laing) and the Secretary (Mr D. Faris). During their absence the 'Vice-President, Mr R. Scott, B.ackball, would be available for any urgent business. •* It was decided to endorse the statement on the war policy of the combined Executives of the Federation and Labour Party. A full discussion took place regarding suggested proposals for a new fcward, at the expiry of the present award next June. A comprehensive list of proposals was finally decided ion.
