Annual Meeting MR SKINNER'S OFFER TO ENLIST. [From Our Own Correspondent] The annual meeting of the Motueka L.R.C. was held on Saturday last at Takaka. Mr A. Rowlands was in the chair, and the following delegates were present, Messrs Martin, Reilly, Robinson, Berg, Treswell, Reed, Arton, Mitchell, Williams, McGregor, E. Reilly and Edwards (secretary). Apologies were received from Messrs West, McLoughlin, Davies, Bannon, N. Rollings, Coxall and Mrs Ward. The President placed the report and balance-sheet before the meeting, the balance-sheet showing a good credit balance. The Secretary apologised owing to pressure of business that the auditor had not time to audit the books before this meeting. J. McGregor moved, and P. Remy seconded that the balance-sheet be held over until next meeting for confirmation.

The following nominations were received for the official positions of the LRC- President: Messrs A. Rowlands and J. West; Vice-President: Messrs Johnston and McGregor; Sec-retary-Treasurer: A. S. Edwards elected unopposed. The result of the ballot Mr A. Rowlands was elected President and J. McGregor Vice-Presi-dent Trustees, Messrs A. Rowlands and A S. Edwards. Delegate to annual conference, Mr C. F. Skinner. -M.P. , , ~ rla The Chairman presented the decision of all the branches in regard to the letter from Mr C. F. Sk.nner, M.P., that he was prepared to enlist and he left himself entirely in the hands of the members of the L.R.cThe majority of the branches wer not in favour of Mr Skinner enlisting as he could do better service by remaining a member of the Govern ment and looking after the interests Of those that had gone.
