TARANAKI MAORI WOMAN. TO TAKE PART IN CENTENNIAL PROCESSION. NEW PLYMOUTH, March 12. Recognised as the oldest living person among the Maori tribes of the west coast of the North Island, a 114-year-old resident of Ketemarae Road Pa, at Normanby, will', take part in a Centenary procession at Hawera on Saturday. Though she is stooped with the weight of her years, she has the full possession of her ■faculties, and, when interviewed at the Pa, she was weeding vegetables. As the result of representations made bv the Mayor of Haw-era, Mr. L. FL Clapham, to the Department of Internal Affairs, a special Centennial badge is being prepared for pre:en ation to her.
