PUBLIC WORKS HUTS

FOR GROUP TRAVEL HIKES. WELLINGTON, March 11. With the concurrence of Hon. R. Semple, Hon. W. E. Parry (Minister of Internal Affairs) proposes to transfer a number of huts no longer needed by public works employees to the Physical Welfare branch of his Department for hiking group travel purposes. Huts already mentioned include those at the Homer and the Eg],inton Valley, and some in. the vicinity of cities. The idea is to provide facilities for tramping and motoring parties along scenic routes.
