[Our Own Correspondent]. Mr. W. J. Thiele, who . has been a patient in the Westland Hospital for th past fortnight, is returning home this week. Mrs. and Miss Joyce Johnston, who have been on a visit to Wellington, returned home on Friday. Mrs. E. Kirby has returned after visiting Auckland and attending the Eucharistic . Congress at Wellington. Mrs, P. Sweeny paid a visi to Hokitika last week. Mr. and Mrs. W. Berry, Senr., who have been on a visit to the North Island for the past three months, have returned. . Mr. W. H. Stopforth, of Hokitika, is at present on a visit to South Westland., Mr. A. Gibb, of the New Zealand Road Service, t goes on holiday at the end of the week. Mr. and Mrs. A. Thorn spent the week-end at Hokitika. Mr. J’. Keller made a week-end visit to Cobden. The residents of Evans Creek intend asking the Canterbury Education Board to re-open the. school in that loaclity, which has been closed for the past eight years.
